Lawrence graduated from the School of Architecture from the University of Illinois. His career began in San Francisco, CA in the office of Mc Cue, Boone, Tomsick Architects. In 1972, he opened his own firm, focusing on sustainable architecture in Ashland to Bend, OR where he presently resides.
The Building Green Council of Central Oregon honors Lawrence Schechter, Architect for becoming a five Star program Founder.
Their commitment to innovative building and site design techniques that improve the quality and performance of buildings, while simultaneously reducing the stress on the environment, is an important step towards sustainability.
As presented by Bill Bradbury, then current Oregon Secretary of State and Chair of the Oregon Sustainability Board.
