Columbia River Bank | Yakima, WA
This branch bank located in Yakima, WA was designed to provide banking services that capture
the rugged beauty of the region and the culture that proudly honors its ecosystem.
The glazed two-story entrance lobby welcomes community members with a uniquely crafted spatial
experience that features a sculptural composition of natural basalt columns that lead into the
lobby along a simulated dry stream bed.
For those seeking other banking services, the basalt columns lead the way to the mezzanine under a grand East-facing circular window.
The building was designed by Lawrence when he was employed for a few years as a senior staff
member in the firm of Steele Associates Architects in Bend, OR.
